Gene's Section: June 19th: The fourth and final section of the Field Course began with a rafting trip on the San Juan river in Utah. June 20th: Early in the morning, the group departed from the Cadillac Ranch in Bluff, UT for a 30-mile adventure to observe sedimentary structures. After leaving Utah, the group drove to various other places including Chaco Canyon, Barringer Meteor Crator, and Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona. June 22nd: The group arrived in Carlsbad, NM. The next few days were spent exploring Carlsbad Caverns and mapping an ancient reef. The trip closed with a visit to Turner Falls in Davis, OK where the group finished up some final projects and relaxed. Carlsbad Caverns, NM |
