Hamilton’s Student Fellowships Coordinator will work with you to identify and apply for nationally and internationally competitive opportunities.
International Summer Research Funding
This new program is designed to support second- and third-year Hamilton students who wish to conduct summer research outside the United States in locations such as universities, government agencies, museums, archives, art galleries, archaeological and historical sites, research libraries, laboratories, and field sites.

For Anusha Karki ’24, communities are intricate layers of people, resources, opportunities, and identities. For migrant domestic workers, these communities are essential to creating new lives in new lands. Yet the tireless childcare, caregiving, and other household responsibilities they provide behind closed doors often go unrecognized, as do their stories.

Midway through the second semester, Hamilton students continue to excel in the classroom, in academic competitions, and as student-athletes.

Six Hamilton students — Lara Barreira ’25, Nikki Conlogue 25, Miranda Gregory ’25, Kelvin Nunez ’24, Christina Stoll ’25, and Mimosa Van ’26 — are studying abroad this semester, thanks to assistance from Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships.

Many young people have grand aspirations to change the world; not all actually do. Dewayne Martin ’24 has such aspirations in abundance and is already proving that he’s willing to see them through.

As long as she has been a student at Hamilton, Mary Hurner ’24 has been passionate about building community both on and off the Hill, and this summer was no exception. Hurner was recently recognized as an inaugural awardee of the Obama-Chesky Scholarship for Public Service, also known as the Voyager Scholarship. The scholarship granted her a $10,000 stipend and free Airbnb housing to pursue a self-designed work-travel experience.

Stephanie Andrade ’26 and Katlynn (Kat) Leon ’25 will be exploring their academic interests abroad thanks to Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships. Andrade will travel to the Netherlands this summer, while Leon will study in the United Kingdom this fall.

Every year, Hamilton selects project proposals from members of the senior class that exhibit a “spirit of inquisitiveness and a seriousness of purpose” worthy of $30,000. Hamilton’s Bristol Fellowship awards this generous funding for worldwide research projects that will encourage both “discovery of self and the world.” This year’s recipients, Abigail Moone ’23 and Charlie Ratner ’23 hope to make those same discoveries.
