Virus Protection at Hamilton College
Hamilton requires all students to install antivirus software on their personal computers by the end of the second week of classes each semester.
Failure to do so can result in loss of connectivity to the Hamilton College network until up-to-date antivirus software is installed.
Software for students
Hamilton College does not license antivirus software for student use, but options for those lacking protection are listed below. Hamilton does not explicitly endorse any specific antivirus product(s) for personal/private use.
- If you already have antivirus software installed, simply be sure to keep it updated. ]
- Do not install multiple antivirus programs on your computer, as this can cause conflicts and degrade your computer's performance.
- If you want to switch to different antivirus software, be sure to fully uninstall the existing antivirus software first.
