eBooks: Getting Started

Research & Instructional Design

Last updated: April 7, 2017

The library provides access to more than 200,000 ebooks in ALEX. All of the ebooks can be read online with no additional software or downloading required. If you want to download an ebook to your computer or ebook reader follow these steps:

  1. Set up your computer or reader.
  2. Follow viewing and downloading instructions.
You will need to create an account on ebrary and EBSCO.
  3. Ask a librarian.
We'd be happy to set up an appointment to introduce you to ebooks at Hamilton.

Finding eBooks

The library has added three new eBook collections with more than 200,000 titles since the spring of 2013.  Consult the Finding eBooks page for links to all the library's eBook collections. Records for books included in the library's major eBook collections are searchable in ALEX, the library's catalog.
