The Counseling Center at Hamilton College is searching for a full-time, 10-month position. Responsibilities include: Providing individual psychotherapy to undergraduate students, keeping timely records of clinical and other activities, participating in after-hours on-call rotation within a staff of three, and participating in outreach activities in areas such as first-year student programming, suicide prevention/gatekeeper training, sexual assault prevention and response, and alcohol and other drug education/prevention.
Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology; at least one year of experience in a college or university counseling center (including internship year); New York State licensure requirements expected to be met within two years of appointment.
Given the center’s focus on individual psychotherapy, a strong generalist is desired. The ability to provide compassionate and sensitive therapy while responding efficiently and effectively to emergent needs is strongly desired. Additionally, experience with eating disorders and sexual abuse/trauma is strongly preferred.
