Continuing to monitor COVID levels on campus
February 5, 2023
Dear Hamilton Community Members,
As you likely heard last week the Biden administration announced it will allow the COVID-19 public health emergency to expire in May. Oneida County’s community risk level is currently rated “Medium,” however, and cases appear to be increasing among our campus community. Please continue to self-test when you experience COVID-19 symptoms and, if positive, isolate for a minimum of five days (after Day 0) per New York State regulations, then wear a mask until after Day 10. Individuals that test positive for COVID-19 should share their positive results with either the Student Health Center (Portal link to upload student results) and/or HR/campus supervisor for employees.
Hamilton’s mask policy remains the same as last semester. The use of masks on campus is optional outdoors and indoors for students, faculty, staff, and members of the public who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Organizers of events and faculty teaching classes or holding office hours may require masks at their discretion. If you are new to campus or need a refresher on all of the campus policies regarding COVID-19, please review the COVID-19 Information website.
Warmer weather is headed our way this week, so we hope you will enjoy time outside and practice self-care to stay well. If you have any questions related to COVID-19 policies, please contact Kelle Chrysler.
