Hamilton College's Reid Swartz '15 finished first in two events and second in another as the Continentals lost to Rensselaer in a dual meet at Hamilton's Bristol Pool on Feb. 1.

Results

Swartz captured first place in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 24.61 seconds and the 100 back in 53.71 seconds. He was also runner-up in the 50 butterfly with a time of 24.26 seconds.

Swartz led off a 400 medley relay that won by .04 seconds with a time of 3:39.14. The rest of the relay included Alex Jones '16, Luke Jeton '17 and Conor Collins '14.

Jones took first place in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 26.43 seconds, Ryan Cassidy '17 ended up second in the 200 individual medley in 2:03.80 and Collins was third in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:48.25.

John McBratney '16 recorded a trio of top-three finishes. McBratney raced to second place in the 200 free (1:47.44) and the 50 free (22.86 seconds) and finished third in the 100 free (49.80). The winning time in the 100 free was 49.61 seconds.

Rensselaer posted 196 team points to 104 for the Continentals (2-7 overall). Hamilton won't compete again until the 2014 NESCAC Men's Swimming & Diving Championship at Bowdoin College on Friday, Feb. 21.
