Hamilton College scored the game's first 20 points and cruised to an 88-56 non-league victory against St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) at Scott Field House on Jan. 8.
The Continentals (5-4 overall) led 47-18 at the half and finished with their highest scoring output in a game this season. St. Joseph's (6-8) lost its third straight game and second in as many days.
Nick Jones '07 led Hamilton with 18 points in just 21 minutes. Jones has led the Continentals in scoring in each of the last six games and is averaging 15.9 points per game. Staunton Peck '06 chipped in 13 points, six rebounds and three steals. Tsakani Ngobeni '07 added ten points and three blocked shots. Tim Welchons '06 was credited with five of Hamilton's 20 assists.
Wayne Warmbier '07 made four of nine three-point attempts and paced the Bears with 12 points. Lukasz Cygan '07 pulled down a game-high nine rebounds and Mike Donnelly '07 handed out six assists.
The Continentals shot 53.8 percent from the field and held a 44-30 advantage in rebounds. Hamilton turned the ball over just nine times. All 12 players played at least 11 minutes and all but two scored. The Continentals travel to Geneva, N.Y., to open their Liberty League schedule at Hobart College on Tuesday, Jan. 11, at 7 p.m.
