Jason Oberholtzer '08 has joined ink Communications as manager, social media & content. Ink Communications is a virtual global high tech PR boutique agency, that specializes in helping telecommunications, mobile and small to medium sized emerging tech companies create a competitive advantage through social media and marketing.

Steve Goodwin '82 has been named vice president for Marketing and Communications for Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life.  As a member of Hillel’s senior management team, Goodwin will lead all marketing and communications functions and work with internal and external stakeholders across the organization.

Bradley Fleischer '00 is playing the solider Kev in the Broadway production of Rajiv Joseph's "Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo," with Robin Williams.   Fleischer has been playing Kev since the first run of the play in California in 2009 and describes his character as "young" and "naïve," someone who "thinks that war is going to be like a video game, he's just going to go over there and become a hero."

Carlyle "Connie" Ring, Jr. '53, P'87 has been named a Living Legend of Alexandria. Selected individuals must have contributed at least one tangible improvement to the quality of the city's life that likely would be missing without that person's vision and energy or have demonstrated exemplary service to the city for 10 or more years.

John L. Murad, Jr. '80 was recently appointed to SUNY Upstate Medical Foundation's Board of Directors. Founded in 1976 as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation, the Upstate Medical University Foundation provides different avenues of receipt for private contributions.

Morpho Detection, Inc. (MDI), part of the Safran Group's security business, has announced entering into a definitive agreement to acquire Syagen Technology, Inc.  Syagen is an analytical instrumentation company that develops chemical analysis products based on mass spectrometry for high-speed molecular analysis for a broad range of applications ranging from pharmaceutical drug analysis to explosives detection for homeland security.

Marc Simon '94 has been named one of the 2011 honorees of the SGB 40 Under 40 Awards. The awards list is compiled by a panel of SportsOneSource analysts, editors and industry executives and recognizes individuals who are leaders in the sporting goods industry. Simon is one of 40 leaders selected from more than 450 nominations.

Paul Gazzolo '87 has been appointed vice president of publishing of CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business and a global provider of tax, accounting and audit information, software and services. "This is a very exciting time to be joining CCH, as it continues to invest and lead in this area," said Gazzolo. "Building on its publishing heritage of nearly one hundred years, CCH is first in delivering award-winning solutions that deliver premier information and accurate answers, in the innovative new ways customers expect today."

JRB Enterprises, Inc.  has announced Thomas Saeli '79 as chief executive officer. Saeli will oversee the operations of sister companies Duro-Last Roofing, Inc., Plastatech Engineering, Ltd., Oscoda Plastics, Inc., TIP-TOP Screw Manufacturing, Inc., Energy Solutions Insulation, Inc., and JRB Personnel, LLC. Chairman Jack Burt said Saeli was the "unanimous choice" of the Board of Directors and that they "are confident that Tom will provide excellent leadership for Duro-Last and the other businesses in the John R. Burt Enterprises family of companies as they grow and strengthen their positions in the marketplace."

The World Union for Progressive Judaism (WUPJ) has announced the appointment of Rabbi Stephen Lewis Fuchs '68 as president of the organization. The WUPJ is active in 45 countries and is the international umbrella organization of the Reform, Liberal, Progressive and Reconstructionist movements, and seeks to strengthen Jewish life by establishing and supporting modern, pluralistic congregations and institutions, developing Jewish communal and youth leadership and advancing social justice. As president, Fuchs will spend time in the United States and Israel to encourage the advancement of Progressive Jewish life.
