Michael Gorton Crary ’95, long employed by the New York State Legislature, grew up in Albany, N.Y., where he was born on Oct. 1, 1971. The son of Peter G. Crary ’68, an attorney, and the former Elizabeth Dale Bridge, Mike Crary was graduated in 1989 from Guilderland High School. He came to College Hill that year. Despite academic struggles, he persevered in pursuing his studies at Hamilton and at the College of Saint Rose in Albany. After returning to the Hill in 1992, he majored in history and earned his diploma in 1995.
Michael G. Crary, who “enjoyed history, especially Civil War history, sports, reading and music,” as reported in a brief obituary in the Albany Times-Union, died on Dec. 4, 2013, while hospitalized in Albany. In addition to his father and mother, now Dale Lofrumento, he is survived by a sister, Elizabeth “Betsy” Crary Robinson ’96, and nephews and a niece, Jack, Harris and Kate Robinson. Michael Crary was a nephew of the late E. Scott Finegan ’59 and a cousin of Elizabeth Finegan Menges ’84.
