Hamilton’s Student Fellowships Coordinator will work with you to identify and apply for nationally and internationally competitive opportunities.
International Summer Research Funding
This new program is designed to support second- and third-year Hamilton students who wish to conduct summer research outside the United States in locations such as universities, government agencies, museums, archives, art galleries, archaeological and historical sites, research libraries, laboratories, and field sites.
Recent Award Recipients

Emily Yong ’19 has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Taiwan. She is a Dean’s List neuroscience major from New York City.

Hamilton College is among U.S. colleges and universities that produced the most 2018-19 Fulbright U.S. students, according to the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The Fulbright Program is the U.S. government’s flagship international educational exchange program. Top-producing institutions are highlighted annually in The Chronicle of Higher Education.

Tsion Tesfaye ’16 has been selected as a Knight-Hennessy Scholar at Stanford University. Knight-Hennessy Scholars receive full funding for graduate study at Stanford. The program aims to develop an interdisciplinary community of future global leaders to address the world’s most complex challenges through collaboration and innovation.

Six Hamilton juniors have been awarded Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships for study abroad during the spring 2019 semester.

Baillie Riggs ’20 has been awarded a Freeman-ASIA grant for study abroad through Hamilton’s Associated Colleges in China (ACC) program during this summer and the 2018-19 academic year.

Mackenzie Doherty ’18 has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Vietnam.

Through Hamilton's Bristol Fellowship, psychology grad Monika Rybak ’18 will spend a year traveling the world to research tattoo traditions and how inking experiences differ across cultures.

Isabel O’Malley ’18, recipient of a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship, will travel abroad to study the production and effects of therapeutic radio next year. Hamilton had four recipients in 2018.

Jacob (Jake) Colangelo ’20 and Cameron DiGiovanni ’20 have been awarded Coccia Foundation Scholarships for study abroad in Italy. They will use the $2,000 scholarships to study in Italy this summer at the CET Siena Program.

Olivia Melodia ’18 has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Bulgaria. A philosophy major, she studied at Universidad del Salvador, Buenos Aires, Argentina, last spring where she was an English teaching assistant and intern at Bachillerato Popular Trans, in Buenos Aires.
