Work from Professor of Art Rebecca Murtaugh’s Dietrich Inchworm Grant (DiG) project is featured in a New York City exhibition at the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Arts Center at Governors Island.

Associate Professor of Classics Jesse Weiner recently organized and chaired a panel, on which he also presented, at the Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association (PAMLA) annual meeting in Portland, Ore.

Associate Professor of Literature Pavitra Sundar's coedited volume, Thinking with an Accent, was featured in a Korean radio documentary "Good English, Bad English, Weird English: A Special Report on English Discrimination."

Associate Professor of Sociology Jaime Kucinskas published a book chapter, "Moral Decision-Making Processes in their Organizational, Institutional, and Historical Contexts" in the Handbook of the Sociology of Morality, Volume 2 (Springer).

Alan Cafruny, the Henry Platt Bristol Professor of International Affairs, recently published a chapter in the Routledge Handbook of the Political Economy of Sanctions, edited by Ksenia Kirkham.

Katheryn Doran, associate professor of philosophy, hosted the second Philosophy of Film Without Theory conference on Oct. 21-22. Doran’s talk “I May Destroy You: TV and the Growth of Understanding” grew out of conversations with students in her Philosophy of Film course about the paucity of treatment in film and TV of all but stereotypical violent sexual assault by strangers.

Ann Owen, the Henry Platt Bristol Professor of Economics, presented a summary of her research on gender diversity on bank boards of directors at an American Bankers Association (ABA) Open Forum on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in October. Her research titled “The performance benefits of a more gender-diverse board of directors,” is available online and will be in print in the ABA Banking Journal in January.

Visiting Professor of History Ty Seidule’s schedule has been interwoven with major diversity, equity, and inclusion presentations, media interviews, and U.S. Naming Commission Army base ceremonies this semester. Seidule has also presented at military institutions, museums, universities, churches, and conferences, and has written in and been quoted by major national outlets including The Washington Post, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal.

Professor of Philosophy Russell Marcus and Catherine Schmitt ’24 are the co-authors of an article appearing in the fall 2023 issue of APA Studies on Teaching Philosophy, a publication of the American Philosophical Association.

Assistant Professor of Sociology Stephanie A. Dhuman recently published an article titled “‘Why Can’t We Have Some Kind of Unity?’ Cultural Contention Amongst Puerto Rican and Black Residents in Southern Suburbia” in the journal Sociology of Race and Ethnicity (SRE).
